Where are you on a scale of 1-10 right now?
(10 is great and 1 is the opposite)
I was at a 3 this morning. I realized it and chalked it up to not getting very much sleep and being worried. (Rationalizing is one of my super powers…:-)
My husband just had surgery, and I am taking care of him.
For some background… we decided it would be a great idea to have the surgery in Asheville so we could have some time to chill during the Christmas holidays with our family. I envisioned a fire in the fireplace… Christmas music playing in the background… hot chocolate with whipped cream… and the lights glowing on the Christmas tree… as Joe sat in the recliner and healed.
Yep….. that was my expectation.
Did I mention I was at a 3 this morning? Needless to say…I was not the most patient or loving caregiver.
Our time in Asheville was not turning out as I had imagined— so I took a deep breath and asked myself if I wanted to keep spinning in my negative emotions or if wanted to do something to change them.
I knew I needed to make the effort to shift my emotions in a positive direction.
So I did. (…for just 5 minutes)
That small 5-minute change made a big impact on me. My circumstances didn’t change at all, but my emotions did. YAY! (Why am I still so surprised when this small change makes such a big (HUGE) impact on me?)
When I realized how much better I felt immediately (increased energy… better outlook…more peaceful), I thought about you and the emotions we all experience during the holidays.
The holidays are filled with so many emotions- some good and some not so good- and the volume of these emotions is usually turned WAY UP.
Some people are excited to decorate weeks before Thanksgiving,
and they have all of their Christmas shopping done by the 4th of July.
Others prefer to crawl under the covers and wait until the holiday is past.
Regardless of how you approach the holiday season, the one thing we have in common is our emotions are in overdrive.
Ready for a quick self-check?
Are you experiencing negative emotions during this season?
disappointment because of unmet expectations…
sadness because you miss a loved one…
frustration as you try to find the perfect gift…
pressure to bake and cook and decorate like HGTV…
pressure to be what you see on Instagram and Facebook
frantically cleaning for the guests who will arrive soon?
You feel all the feels and it really does affect your body, your mind, and your spirit.
You may even feel your energy draining as your list of “things to do” grows and grows. If you are like me, you even wake up in the middle of the night and remember things you forgot to put on your list!
We have a gift for you!
(and just maybe for all the people around you
-if you can relate to anything that you have read so far.)
We would like to invite you to join us for a POP session to experience Peace on Purpose.
Yes- it is possible. It is also intentional. Show up… and give it a try.
We will also give you some tips on how to carry this POP with you throughout the holiday season.
Maybe- just maybe- you need to be intentional about finding some peace during this holiday season.
I know I did.
Join us for a POP Session!
